Therapy should feel like a place where you
finally get to exhale.
With Alma Babbitt, that's what you'll find, a space to be honest and feel like yourself again. Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, or the weight of holding everything together, you don't have to keep getting through it. You can reclaim it.
Meet Alma Babbitt
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Hi, I'm Alma Babbitt, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADAC) based in New Mexico, also licensed in New Hampshire. For over a decade, I've worked alongside people navigating some of life's hardest moments, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and substance use, and I've built my practice around one belief: you don't need to have it all figured out before you start.
My Approach: I bring together evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR, with genuine compassion and zero judgment. Every person who sits down with me (virtually) is different, so our work together is shaped around your specific story, not a one-size-fits-all script. My goal isn't just to help you cope, it's to help you build real insight, resilience, and confidence that stays with you long after our sessions end.
My Background: Before building my private practice, I spent years working in community, correctional, substance use, and forensic settings, experience that gave me a deep understanding of how trauma, addiction, and mental health intersect with real life. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. I've also conducted forensic and psychological evaluations, which means I bring both clinical rigor and hard-won real-world perspective to our work together.
What You Can Expect: Our first session is about getting to know each other, no pressure, no assumptions. I'll ask about what's brought you here, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping will be different. From there, we build a plan together, one that's actually built around your goals, not mine. You'll always be met here without judgment, at your own pace.
What Guides My Work
My Mission
To create a space where people don't have to have it all figured out, where healing, self-understanding, and lasting change are possible without judgment.
My Vision
To see the people I work with move from feeling overwhelmed and stuck to feeling grounded, resilient, and genuinely equipped to navigate whatever life brings next.
My Commitment
To meet you exactly where you are, without judgment, and to walk alongside you at a pace that actually feels right for you.
